Although you want to begin by comparing and contrasting topics, there is no reason why you should not choose a topic that you enjoy reading.While I would suggest that you read a book or two before you start your essay, you may want to start it on your own and move onto reading later if you have not already started it. That way, you will have a different perspective than someone who has written a paper on a subject that they did not enjoy.Reading a book on your topic is a good time to learn more about it, but it is not a good time to express yourself. By doing so, you will be restricting your writing to certain ideas and it will be limited t o the topic itself.Now, that you know how to compare and contrast topics, you will be able to use your imagination and be able to create a good topic. By doing so, you will be able to achieve your goal of starting an essay that you are proud of.
